The 53 MW AGL solar farm at Broken Hill is located approximately five kilometres southwest of the Broken Hill township, adjacent to Willyama Common. It sits on 140 hectares between Barrier Highway the Peterborough-Broken Hill rail line.
The solar farm’s 670,000 solar panels have the generating capacity to meet the electricity needs of 17,000 homes. The $150 Million project, provided jobs and income for Broken Hill residents and businesses during its construction, and ongoing employment for two full time operators.
